About the Position

The Developer Marketing team at Tendermint Inc is looking for a developer relations engineer with prior experience in developer relations, technical product marketing or technical customer support. You will partner with Engineering, Product, and Marketing to drive Tendermint’s engagement with the global developer community who are building on the Cosmos ecosystem. We’re looking for an executor to drive the acquisition and engagement funnel among developers at scale through best-in-class documentation, developer education and content, account/community management, compelling storytelling, campaigns, and events.

This is a full time position and is located in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Responsibilities

Manage the inbound relationship funnel, and taking ownership over a few key accounts

Grow the ecosystem by engaging directly and attracting developers who are new to the Cosmos Network; contribute to online forums and channels

Identify high quality projects that may build on top of the Cosmos SDK and start engaging them via an outbound program

Contribute to the developer relations team’s OKRs - # of zones launched on Cosmos

Be a thought leader in the blockchain developer community who can give engaging presentations to and write useful content for our target audience, about both Cosmos and blockchain development best practices

Be the voice of the developer during product discussions and evaluating priorities of bugs and feature requests

Capture feedback from users to translate into product requirements and documentation. Contribute to improving existing documentation and produce new ones where needed

Assist with generating developer content such as blog posts, troubleshooting/FAQ, case studies, and webinars

Pursue general open source growth opportunities and best practices, such as bug reports, bounties programs, and sandboxes

Hustling skills - get out there, meet people and make connections in unexpected places; be an advocate for Cosmos’ next-generation blockchain developer tool

Preferred Requirements

Software engineering background with at least a Computer Science degree or 2+ years working as an engineer (or equivalent)

Experience with building complex developer tool workflows (Golang preferred)

Excitement to learn new languages and frameworks

Experience with open source project participation and a desire to build healthy communities around Cosmos and Tendermint Core’s open source offerings

Experience in a customer support, developer marketing, or solutions engineering role

Understanding of and empathy for developers

Willingness to travel to developer events across the globe a few times each year, and stay productive and professional on the road

Proven ability to communicate information orally and verbally - experience in giving talks in front of a large group of people and experience in writing technical content

A history of engaging with developer communities in-person (hackathons, conferences, meetups etc) and online (social media, community forums, reddit, other channels)

A deep interest in decentralized applications and the communities around them
