About the Position
The Developer Marketing team at Tendermint Inc is looking for a leader with prior experience in developer relations or technical product marketing to lead our developer marketing efforts. You will build and lead a team of Developer Relations and Developer Evangelists, and partner with Engineering, Product, and Marketing to drive Tendermint’s engagement with the global developer community who are building on the Cosmos ecosystem. We’re looking for a builder to drive the acquisition and engagement funnel among developers at scale through best-in-class documentation, developer education and content, compelling storytelling, community management, campaigns, and events.
This is a full time position and is located in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Reporting to the Chief Marketing Officer, you will work in collaboration to create and lead the overall developer relations and evangelism strategy
Own, manage and grow the existing developer relations team to drive adoption of the Cosmos SDK and projects that will connect to the Cosmos Hub
Design and implement high-impact programs that are optimized to deliver results across the developer marketing funnel to hit team Objectives and Key Results (OKR’s)
Grow the ecosystem by attracting developers who are new to the Cosmos Network; represent Cosmos at blockchain developer events and conferences, and contribute to online forums and channels
Lead the direction of the team responsible for technical documentation and educational content targeted at developers
Care deeply about Tendermint’s teammates, contributors, and users with the ability to translate your leadership into increased adoption, brand halo, and developer relations
Work directly with the Chief Marketing Officer to lead developer relations and evangelism efforts to drive engagement and build a sense of community among Cosmos’ network of developers building on the Cosmos SDK and Tendermint Core
Articulate compelling value propositions and drive adoption for Cosmos and Tendermint Core offerings in various market segments and geographical areas
Drive the strategy for content development through thought leadership, white papers, infographics, blog posts, social media, webinars and by being an evangelist for Cosmos
Contribute to the creation of a comprehensive global developer marketing plan - test, iterate and scale programs that exceed developer acquisition and engagement goals
Support the entire inbound/outbound relationship funnel from initial engagement to launching new zones connected to the Cosmos Hub
Work closely with cross-functional teams including Product, Engineering, and Marketing to understand and influence roadmaps
5+ years of experience in developer relations, technical product marketing or product management roles; innate ability to earn trust and credibility with technical teams
3+ years of experience in building, managing and leading a high-performing team
BA or BS degree in Engineering, Marketing, or a related field
Understanding of and empathy for developers
A history of engaging with developer communities in-person (hackathons, conferences, meetups etc) and online (social media, community forums, reddit, other channels)
Strong technical abilities: programming background and blockchain experience is a plus
Experience working in a fast-paced, high-growth environment where resourcefulness is important in building a developer relations program
The ability to take ownership and see initiatives through
