We are a distributed team across the globe. Our headquarters is in the San Francisco Bay Area, and we have hubs in Berlin, Toronto, and New York City. We leverage agile methodologies to move quickly and stay focused. Communication is important to us and we rely heavily on Slack, Zoom, and GitHub to help us stay in sync. Everything we build is open source and available on GitHub.
This is a full time position and is located in Berkeley or San Francisco.
What you will be doing:
This is a greenfields role that will see you create and build Tendermint’s Talent strategy and overall hiring process. It is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about recruiting and can transform what they know into a strategy that will make a difference at a rapidly growing company. Experience in technical hiring is required, with knowledge and a curiosity of blockchain highly desirable.
In this role, you will:
Own and build upon Tendermint’s recruitment practices from the ground up including the hiring process, best practice and onboarding
Reporting to the VP People & Talent you will work in collaboration to create the overall Talent strategy and improve current processes
Manage the entire applicant process, from application/outreach stage to closing stage
Build and execute employment branding strategies, including events, content and community engagement
Help to onboard new team members and ensure they are set up for success
We’re looking for someone who has:
Experience hiring software engineers and other technical roles
Solid knowledge of hiring practices and regulations and related employment legislation
5 or more years in a technical recruiting role
Passion for creating an amazing candidate experience
Be a part of the blockchain community to build networks and create a strong pipeline for future hires
A strong mix of resourcefulness, organizational skills and empathy
The ability to self manage, with excitement about building a recruiting practice from the ground up
Be curious minded about people with a diverse view of thought
Exceptional communication both written and verbal
Ability to think ‘big picture’ and to flex when needed
Work within a remote team structure
Deep interest in the Blockchain space
