How We Work

We are a distributed team across the globe. Our headquarters is in the San Francisco Bay Area, and we have hubs in Berlin, Toronto, and New York City. We leverage agile methodologies to move quickly and stay focused. Communication is important to us and we rely heavily on Slack, Zoom, and GitHub to help us stay in sync. Everything we build is open source and available on GitHub.

This is a full time position and is located in Berkeley, or San Francisco CA.

What you will be doing:

Work with the Product Team and Engineering Lead to plan features and milestones for the engineering teams

Work in collaboration with the executive team to execute on the overall business strategy

Lead and support the company's mission in building a first class culture and place to work

Manage the hiring efforts and build of the Engineering team

Create and maintain systems to ensure smooth operation of the engineering organization

Establish processes to write scalable, robust, testable, efficient, and easily maintainable code

Provide mentorship and guidance to the senior engineers

Playing a key role in architectural and design decisions

We’re looking for someone who has:

At least 7 years of software engineering experience with open source contributions

At least 5 years managing and leading software development teams

Hands on leader with a global lense and mindset

Experience working with remote and distributed teams

Experience managing a team developing, releasing, and maintaining production software

Ability to lead by example and roll up their sleeves and work with the team when required

A strong grasp of computer science fundamentals

Experience working in an agile development environment

Exceptional communication skills and negotiation skills
